Use Rehome by Adopt-a-Pet

If you’re looking to rehome your pet yourself, we highly recommend using Rehome by Adopt-a-Pet

It’s a safe, secure platform designed to match your pet with a loving new family—and best of all, when you use our custom link, your pet will also appear on our Happy Life Animal Rescue website, giving them even more visibility and a better chance at finding the right home.

✨ It’s super simple to set up, and helps keep pets out of overcrowded shelters.

Rehome FAQ

Q: Is there a cost to list my pet on Rehome?

Yes, Rehome charges a small listing fee between $5 and $50, depending on your pet’s age and type.

BUT! You can use our referral code: HLAR92092 to take 90% off the fee. (You’re welcome!)

Q: Where does the link take me?

Our referral link takes you directly to the Rehome sign-up form—so we suggest reading how the process works beforehand: How Rehome Works

Q: What happens after I list my pet?

You’ll receive help from Rehome to screen potential adopters, set up meet-and-greets, and complete the adoption—all while keeping your pet in the comfort of your home.

🐶 Looking to Surrender Directly to Happy Life?

We do accept direct surrenders when space allows, but please note—this is not an emergency drop-off service and we cannot accept same-day or walk-in surrenders.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Email us at contact@happylifeanimalrescue.org to request a surrender form.

  2. We’ll ask you to provide:

    • Up-to-date medical records

    • A recent trainer or behaviorist report

  3. Once we review your submission, if we believe your pet is a fit for our program, you’ll be placed in our surrender queue.

Please note:

🐾 This can be a longer process, depending on available space, foster homes, and your pet’s individual needs. Our team will stay in touch and guide you every step of the way.

We know this is a hard decision, and we’re here to support you however we can—whether that’s through direct surrender or helping you safely rehome your pet yourself.
